Caesy Oney braves the bright sun with his bare eyes, just so I could get this shot at Salvation Mountain in Slab City. Whatta helluva guy.

DUAL SPINNER! Mark Lobo and I capture our very first “spin-off” in Slab City, while the rest of our RV packs up and prepares to hit the road. Check out his Tumblr to see a few more of his 360 shots.

I had been to Slab City before, but left too quickly to be able to make a stop at Salvation Mountain. This time we made a point to check it out and walk around. What a perfect first stop for the LARV to make on our roadtrip! There’s definitely no place like it - art, mixed with spirituality, mixed with something weird, plus awesome, and in the desert. Loved it!
So here I made Michael jump.

I was all ready to shoot their set with flash, even shot a couple portraits that night - flash didn’t fire in a single one. Well, it fired, but it didn’t capture on film. Need to figure that out…
But! I’m still excited with how this picture came out, at least. The Range was definitely one of the coolest places I’ve seen live music, and the entire line up that night had everyone on their feet, dancing, and having a great time. Already looking forward to the second Slab City music festival next year!
I shot this at The Range during the 1st Annual Slab City Music Festival. Now, what you see here is a prime example of photo sniping.
I saw our good friend Danny taking a seat on one of those sofas during the show, and just as Caitlin was getting out her camera to snap a portrait (as you can see on the right of the frame) I whisked around and took mine first! She was so pleased to see my picture of Danny didn’t turn out; I was pleased to see I actually caught that whole interaction in one frame.
So many more Slab City pictures to come.
