What is The Forge, you ask?
Help us reach our goal by checking out our IndieGoGo page. You’re the best!
This creative space has become my second home in this big city. They have 10 more days left to raise the funds they need to complete this project! Watch the video (can you spot me doing my thang?) and visit the IndieGoGo page to find out more.
If you haven’t seen it yet, I have a short feature on Lynda.com. There’s a sneak peak you can watch even if you’re not a member, but sign up and see the whole thing! (There’s even a couple extended features you can check out.) It was a blast having someone along to document my creative process, I hope you enjoy! Watch The Creative Spark HERE!
Thanks again to Amber Cosgrove for being my lovely model, Alison Christian for her hair & make up skills, and my friends Joe & Huy for letting me make a mess of their apartment for this.
I made this photo for part of the newly launched “Creative Spark” features on Lynda.com. Check out the videos for some insights on my self portraits, the making of this image, as well as my thoughts on and why I love Instagram.
You can watch them HERE, or by clicking the photo above. I hope you enjoy!
Special thanks to my lovely model, Amber Cosgrove. Hair/Make-Up by Alison Christian.

This is another image I made during my stay in Bristol, TN/VA last month. I couldn’t believe the scenery out there, so incredibly different than what I grew up looking at in Nevada. It was gorgeous. Huge thanks to Adam Robinson for all his help during this shoot.
Huge thanks to the King College Photo Department for helping me make this photo happen. Shot as a demonstration on campus in Bristol, TN/VA with volunteers from the photo club and theater department.
I had so much fun while I was out there this month. It was a pleasure to work with them on this, and bring them along from my original concept through final execution. Hopefully they all enjoyed themselves as much as I did!
This photo was made in collaboration between Lauren Randolph & Ryan Schude. We were given the opportunity to attend Photovacation in Bulgaria - where we judged a photography competition, gave a seminar, and created this photo during a demonstration workshop.
Huge thanks to the organizer of Photovacation, Emanuil Treyman, and his wife, Valentina. Not only for being our gracious hosts while we were there, but for throwing and receiving milk in the face for the sake of our photo. Also, thank you to the rest of the workshop participants - both the models and observers during our photo making process!
This is a new image that I created specifically for a group show happening TONIGHT in Chicago. Check out the What If… website for more information, and be sure to make it out to the opening!

Over the holidays a couple of my family members donated the final amounts to help us reach our goal for the Phoot Camp Benefit. Thanks to the help of friends, family, strangers, and all of you, I was able to replace my camera equipment that was stolen from my apartment last year. It feels incredible to be able to shoot so frequently again, not only for work but for play as well.
This was an idea I’ve had stewing in my mind for a while. And now, thanks to so many of you, I was able to finally get it done properly.
There’s still time left to donate, and collect a signed print or post card in return. From here on out, all the money raised will go towards Phoot Camp itself. Hurray!
200 dog and cat shaped light stencils and 300 hours of long exposures is what it took to make this short light stenciling movie, Nowhere Near Here.
