What is The Forge, you ask?
Help us reach our goal by checking out our IndieGoGo page. You’re the best!
This creative space has become my second home in this big city. They have 10 more days left to raise the funds they need to complete this project! Watch the video (can you spot me doing my thang?) and visit the IndieGoGo page to find out more.
Yesterday celebrated the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, allowing women their right of choice for the past 40 years. I feel honored to have been asked to participate in this collaborative project with 40 different photographers, photographing 40 different women, representing 40 faces of choice. This is an important landmark for women in past and future generations. You can find out more at ChoiceOutLoud.org.
Just incase you hadn’t seen it yet, check out this video we made showcasing all of our amazing friends and family using The Forge studio space to its very fullest.
There’s only a week left of our IndieGoGo fundraiser, and the future growth of this community depends on it! There’s great prizes in store for our supporters - secure discounted studio rates, or collect some fine art! Either way, check it out, and if the least you can do is spread the word, then that itself is appreciated.
I moved to Los Angeles 3 years ago, and The Forge was one of the first places I felt at “home.” Whether it’s a huge Halloween event, a gathering to view a slideshow of pictures, or just a small BBQ with friends, I wouldn’t be where I am today without the help of this community.
And now they need your help! With just under a week left, there’s still time to donate and claim some sweet prizes in return. My 365 Book of self portraits is included in one of the packages, so if you’re interested in that - now’s your chance, for cheap!
P.S. Can you spot me in this video? :)
This is just a preview of the longer feature about my creative process now up on Lynda.com - check this out, and if you’re interested in more then hop on over to Lynda and make yourself an account, cause there’s a few good extended features to watch. I talk about photoshoots, Instagram, self portraits and why I keep myself motivated. So happy to be able to share this!
I made this photo for part of the newly launched “Creative Spark” features on Lynda.com. Check out the videos for some insights on my self portraits, the making of this image, as well as my thoughts on and why I love Instagram.
You can watch them HERE, or by clicking the photo above. I hope you enjoy!

A PSA by JIMMYnADI
Last night my talented friends premiered 2 short positive PSA videos aimed to motivate and inspire. Watch, learn, and love.
This Is All Kinds Of Wrong of the Day: A bunch of lifeguards in El Monte, CA, recently created this “Gangnam Style” video — but city administrators caught wind of it, and promptly fired them for “using the facility for private use and wearing uniforms in public while off-duty.”
The video was deemed ”disgusting” and an “embarrassment to the city of El Monte.”
Hey, uptight city officials — if U.S. soldiers in full uniform can get away with a “Call Me Maybe” cover while stationed in Afghanistan, wethinks the El Monte 14 should be rehired ASAP.
[thanks, steve!]
This looks like a really, really, really good time.
Made by the talented DJ Cosgrove, from our Kern River float this summer.
Bakersfield, CA - July 2012
I got to be a part of this wonderful retreat with 35 insanely creative people called Phoot Camp, for 4 days in upstate New York. This is one of those days. (Behind the scenes of one of our group shots)
Ever wonder if a photo was as much fun as it looks? The answer this time is YES! I love this video that Garrett shot during the making of the group shot collaboration between Ryan Schude and I.
Watch us get silly in this video, and then see the final photo HERE, if you haven’t already.
The summer lookbook has an extra special treat: a first ever Myrtle video!
Jessica Collins shot this sweet little making of. Hope you enjoy! <3
Love this super cute behind-the-scenes video from the photo shoot I did with Myrtle. Check out the look book in all its glory right HERE.
Based on Dr. Seuss’s final book before his death, this is a story about life’s ups and downs, told by the people of Burning Man 2011.
From two years ago at The Forge, but bringing it back to celebrate 2012. Happy New Year, everyone!
Good afternoon!
Miranda July has a new book out. :)
